       Welcome to my blog journey for media studies. Media Studies is the study of the content of mass media, industries and practices analysis. The importance of studying media helps shape our perspectives of the world around us through media. My favorite products are videos. It gives me a visual representation of a personal feel to a message. The more I consume videos the better my visual and creativity gets. Videos are engaging to people in my group because visuals capture their interests in split seconds. Learning in-depth about media, learning why the study of media is important, and embracing creativity through media are three things I find interesting about media studies.

Critical Reflection

        In my blog I will be documenting movies, specifically adventure that will be created. The target audience will be for teens/young adults. Being a teenager transitioning to a young adult my film would be most likely to engage teens/ young adults. The theme of my film will be a lesson learned for my target audience. In order for me to learn how to create my film my teacher will provide all the resources needed, and in-depth research by me. My film will be ready to be released before or during January.
 In order for me to create my film and document my blog are 4 strategy skills are editing, screenwriting, able to make my creativity flexible and adequate planning. With these four strategies my component 1 blog will be high due to mastering the skills I need.

      Camera Composition refers to way the elements of a scene are arranged in a camera frame. The composition impacts the way the film is perceived by others. A camera composition is the rule of thirds. The rule of thirds is grid is formed by four lines two vertical and two horizontal placed at an equal distance from each other and the photo edges. It is a guideline stating you should position compositional elements along your gridlines and that the focal point of your composition. Another composition is the leading lines. Leading lines direct the viewer through an image.They guide the eye through the image. Leading lines can be present or implied , and they can be straight or curved.      Color is a key consideration for composition in photography. Complementary colors are used to contrast and make your subject stand put . It helps bring together unrelated elements that are united a color scheme.

Elements of mise en scene  This week our teacher covered elements of mise en scene . Mise en scene is the arrangement of scenery and stage properties in a play. It can be considered as one of the four basic elements in art, along with color, line and texture. Mise en scene helps build the mood and atmosphere for the audience .The director's choice of mise en scene has a significant effect on how the audience perceives characters and their environments. It is the key to a film's style and overall tone .For the audience its intensity , it’s mode of feeling, and to invite the viewer to feel deeply too. There are five elements of mise en scene: composition , sets , props, actors , costumes , and lightning .The technique has been used by directors since 1913. Mise en scene has also been use in film criticism since the 1970s when Roland Barthes wrote an essay about the meaning of a particular shot from Jean Renoir's 1938 film.

Preliminary Exercise:Camera Movement Videos

 This week our teacher assigned us to produce a 3-7sec videos illustrating the six Camera Movement .Techniques selected by our group from the Camera Movement story board.Camera movement is a filmmaking technique that causes a change in frame or perspective through the movement of the camera .Each team member had a job description and demonstrated the skill and responsibility. Our team had to establish MISE EN SCENE Elements in the videos. MISE EN SCENE elements include setting, acting, set design , props, decor etc .When the videos were completed we had to upload them as a YouTube video to create links for each video . We all filmed the videos . I wrote the descriptions and action line. Reflection Paragraph The most uncomplicated camera technique demonstrating was Tilt.The most difficult was Pan movement .Working on vide production was one of the least difficult assignment .
