Preliminary Exercise: Lightning

 Hey Cambridge, This week we touched on lightning in film. Film lightnings refers to the direction, quality source , or colour of light . These guide the audience's attention to create texture. or visual impact , and create atmosphere. This helps to communication . mood, the atmosphere, and help in telling a story. Light can sculpt and describe a scene or character. it can hide or reveal key areas of your frame, it can enhance suspense and evoke emotion. Six lightning techniques are natural light, key lightning, high key lightning, low key lightning, fill lightning, and back lightning. Natural lightning is one of the best and most used in lightning techniques in the filming industry today. Sunlight is a great example of natural light.  Key lightning is meant more to illuminate the form of the show's main actor.An example of key light is someone  using a flash as a source of light.  High key lightning refers more to the style lightning meant for television , photography or film. Portrait  photography  is an example of high key lightning . Low lightning works to encase the scene being focused on in shadow. Fill lightning is meant to cancel out all shadows that have been created by the key light. Back lightning is meant to hit the actor of focus behind .
