Preliminary Exercise:Camera work /Camera Composition

This section is dedicated to Camera Composition. My team that consists of four members we went all around the school to take pictures for this preliminary exercise . We were assigned to write the definition , list 2 purposes , action line ,genre , tonee, and what is happening in the shot. This was one of my favorites out of the four to take pictures of. Last semester we only had to draw pictures this time we had to bring them to life.

Examples of camera composition are the rule of thirds, symmetry, asymmetry, leading lines, shapes, deep focus, shallow focus and shallow focus shot .Rule of thirds is the compositional guideline that places the subject in the left or right of an image. Symmetry shot is a shot being balanced between two subjects. Asymmetry shot is when each side of an imaginary line is different but equal in the compositional cinematography. Leading lines is the compositional technique where human made , or neutral lines lead the viewer’s eyes through a photograph through the subject Deep focus shot is depth of field front to back range of focus an image or how much it appears sharp and clear . Shallow focus shot allows you to capture subjects in the foreground while maintaining the sharpness of the background. Shallow focus shot is the technique that keeps one part of the image focus while the rest is out of focus .
