This week my teacher covered the lesson color in film . The objective of this lesson was. Color in film illicit certain emotions from the audience and build harmony or tension within a scene to create a key theme.  Colors aids in setting the tone and mood for a film .Color’s manipulation guides the audience toward the purpose of the author to create an overall theme. Three codes used in a film that illustrates color are color hue, color saturation and color value. Hue is the color .Color saturation is the intensity of color whether it be 50%25 %or 100%. The percentages determine whether we see a pale or bright color .Three characters of film are protagonist, main character and hero. A cinematographer is responsible for color in film. A cinematographer is a person who creates the color scheme. 

The primary goal of this exercise was to create and analyze symbolic meanings of colors in film. The media we created was a color wheel organizer .I used PowerPoint and word to create my media product . A total of two people were on my team . That was my fellow acquaintance worked on the definitions of the table . I had four slides to do while the last team member had the last 


With the PDFs, lecture hours and videos I learned that color is an outstanding tool used in film to create meaning , and to create a sense of depth and three dimensionality . Strategies I used to complete this task were high levels communication with my partner , in depth research and applying knowledge .

      Camera Composition refers to way the elements of a scene are arranged in a camera frame. The composition impacts the way the film is perceived by others. A camera composition is the rule of thirds. The rule of thirds is grid is formed by four lines two vertical and two horizontal placed at an equal distance from each other and the photo edges. Elements of mise en scene  This week our teacher covered elements of mise en scene . Mise en scene is the arrangement of scenery and stage properties in a play. It can be considered as one of the four basic elements in art, along with color, line and texture. Mise en scene helps build the mood and atmosphere for the audience .The director's choice of mise en scene has a significant effect on how the audience perceives characters and their environments. It is the key to a film's style and overall tone .For the audience its intensity , it’s mode of feeling, and to invite the viewer to feel deeply too. There are five elements of mise en scene: composition , sets , props, actors , costumes , and lightning .The technique has been used by directors since 1913. Mise en scene has also been use in film criticism since the 1970s when Roland Barthes wrote an essay about the meaning of a particular shot from Jean Renoir's 1938 film.

Preliminary Exercise:Camera Movement Videos

 This week our teacher assigned us to produce a 3-7sec videos illustrating the six Camera Movement .Techniques selected by our group from the Camera Movement story board.Camera movement is a filmmaking technique that causes a change in frame or perspective through the movement of the camera .Each team member had a job description and demonstrated the skill and responsibility. Our team had to establish MISE EN SCENE Elements in the videos. MISE EN SCENE elements include setting, acting, set design , props, decor etc .When the videos were completed we had to upload them as a YouTube video to create links for each video . We all filmed the videos . I wrote the descriptions and action line. Reflection Paragraph The most uncomplicated camera technique demonstrating was Tilt.The most difficult was Pan movement .Working on vide production was one of the least difficult assignment .
