 The objective of this assignment was to apply my understanding of how mise en scene codes and their relationsip to the genre conventions of a film. Aa film genre is a stylistic or thematic category for moton pictures based on  similarities either in the narrative elements, aesthetic approach, or the emotional response to the film. Three film genre stand out the most to me . They are action, comedy and romance . Action film is which the protagonist is thrust into a series of events that typically involve violence and physical feats .Comedy film genre of film is which the main emphasis is on humor.Romance films are love stories, or affairs of the heart that center on passion, emotion , and the romantic , affectionate involvement of the main characters and the journey that their loves takes through courtship or marriage . These three genres are my personal favorite because action I get to see high energy and fast paced events into play . Comedy shows a dramatic performance that is humorous which creates a happy feeling within me. Romance I get to see two individuals in love and them using their love for each other as motivation to overcome obstacles .   




The media text I created is a bubble organizer .With creative artwork and informative content we engaged our audience with this exercise. In this lesson we learned about how the genres of Mise en scene play into film. In films the genre conventions are the common element that occur that includes characters, situations, settings, props themes and events.

      Camera Composition refers to way the elements of a scene are arranged in a camera frame. The composition impacts the way the film is perceived by others. Elements of mise en scene  This week our teacher covered elements of mise en scene . Mise en scene is the arrangement of scenery and stage properties in a play. It can be considered as one of the four basic elements in art, along with color, line and texture. Mise en scene helps build the mood and atmosphere for the audience .The director's choice of mise en scene has a significant effect on how the audience perceives characters and their environments. It is the key to a film's style and overall tone .For the audience its intensity , it’s mode of feeling, and to invite the viewer to feel deeply too. There are five elements of mise en scene: composition , sets , props, actors , costumes , and lightning .The technique has been used by directors since 1913. Mise en scene has also been use in film criticism since the 1970s when Roland Barthes wrote an essay about the meaning of a particular shot from Jean Renoir's 1938 film.

Preliminary Exercise:Camera Movement Videos

 This week our teacher assigned us to produce a 3-7sec videos illustrating the six Camera Movement .Techniques selected by our group from the Camera Movement story board.Camera movement is a filmmaking technique that causes a change in frame or perspective through the movement of the camera .Each team member had a job description and demonstrated the skill and responsibility. Our team had to establish MISE EN SCENE Elements in the videos. MISE EN SCENE elements include setting, acting, set design , props, decor etc .When the videos were completed we had to upload them as a YouTube video to create links for each video . We all filmed the videos . I wrote the descriptions and action line. Reflection Paragraph The most uncomplicated camera technique demonstrating was Tilt.The most difficult was Pan movement .Working on vide production was one of the least difficult assignment .
