Introduction to Storyboarding Shot Sizes /Camera Angles

Image
We created a storyboard that defines the action/description lines and illustrates simple drawings on a hard copy worksheet provided to represent each of the above key concepts, following the guidelines below. For this assignment we recognized 16 concepts associated with the camera framing and camera compositions categories . We defined each concept and two significant to their application . Research movies that utilized the 16 camera techniques to create meaning . Camera frame is a frame that still images . Camera Shot is a series of frames that runs for an uninterrupted period of time . Camera angle is the camera angle marks the specific location at which the movie camera is placed to take a shot . A film making technique that causes a change in frame or perspective through the movement of the camera . This assignment i learned about film making a shot list is the director plan for every shot in a scene or sequence of shots . It lists the shots needed to complete your video .it serves

For this preliminary exercise we learned about parts of camera work . For this blog post this is dedicated to camera composition. Camera composition is how a photographer arranges visual elements within their frame . For camera composition we have 8 shots . Single shot - only one person is visible in the shot . Two shot only when two people are visible in the shot .  Three shot - only three people are visible in the shot . Four shot  - only four people are visible in the shot . Crowd shot is when multiple people are in a shot that can not be counted for a regular scale .  Insert shot - shows what a character is looking at .  Over the shoulder shot is where the camera is placed over the scene while you catch the shoulders and  above .  We learned that characteristics and Uses of a POV shot:Often shot with a hand held camera to accentuate the subjective perspective. The POV shot became a staple of the slasher sub genre as the killer PO= like in John Carpenter,s Halloween . It also allo

This section is dedicated to Camera Composition. My team that consists of four members we went all around the school to take pictures for this preliminary exercise . We were assigned to write the definition , list 2 purposes , action line ,genre , tonee, and what is happening in the shot. This was one of my favorites out of the four to take pictures of. Last semester we only had to draw pictures this time we had to bring them to life.  Examples of camera composition are the rule of thirds, symmetry, asymmetry, leading lines, shapes, deep focus, shallow focus and shallow focus shot .Rule of thirds is the compositional guideline that places the subject in the left or right of an image. Symmetry shot is a shot being balanced between two subjects. Asymmetry shot is when each side of an imaginary line is different but equal in the compositional cinematography. Leading lines is the compositional technique where human made , or neutral lines lead the viewer’s eyes through a photograph through

Camera Composition refers to way the elements of a scene are arranged in a camera frame. The composition impacts the way the film is perceived by others. A camera composition is the rule of thirds. The rule of thirds is grid is formed by four lines two vertical and two horizontal placed at an equal distance from each other and the photo edges. It is a guideline stating you should position compositional elements along your gridlines and that the focal point of your composition. Another composition is the leading lines. Leading lines direct the viewer through an image. They guide the eye through the image. Leading lines can be present or implied , and they can be straight or curved.      Color is a key consideration for composition in photography. Complementary colors are used to contrast and make your subject stand put . It helps bring together unrelated elements that are united a color scheme.

Lastly camera framing was left for us to do . This part of the the preliminary exercise allowed us to feel like actual photographers . Due to how we had to position the camera to get the characteristics correct . But what is camera framing and why do we need it ? Camera framing is the placement and position of the subjects in your shot . Out of all the main camera work key shots camera framing had to have the subjects visible more than any of the shots. The camera framing examples are one shot , two shot , three shot , crowd shot , point of view and insert shot . One shot is when one subject is visible in the frame  . Two shot is two subjects visible on the frame , three shot is three subjects visible in the frame , crowd shot is when multiple subjects are visible in the frame that can not usually be counted . Point of view  shot shows what the character is looking at from a perspective  .Over the shoulder shot is where the camera angle is placed above the shoulder and head of the sub

For this preliminary exercise we were able to recognize 16 concepts associated with the camera framing and camera composition categories. We defined each concept and two key points significant to their application . Researched movies that utilized the 16 camera techniques to create meaning . We created a media digital media product to post .We worked in pairs watch videos on camera framing and composition . Found examples from various movies matching the shots in section , named the movie and year , and created an action line .

Digital Camera Work Organizer Section 2 Cool Colors

Image
Cool colors are ideal for easy-to-view contrasts. Bright contrasting colors against a background of a cool color tend to stand out and be far more distinct. It’s not a surprise that cool colors are used frequently for backgrounds on signs, logos, labels, and even shirt designs. Hawaiian shirts often feature a cool color background design to emphasize floral prints or similar tropical island motifs. Cool colors are also used in uniforms quite a bit. Both police and firefighters have for many years used some kind of variation of a cool color for shirt uniforms, only switching to a dark or midnight blue style or black in recent years. Naval uniforms still tend to prefer the light blues for work shirt uniforms, only switching to whites or dark dress blues for ceremonial presence. Mechanics regularly use greens or blues for easy uniform wear that can get dirty and not show stains easily. And foresters as well as rangers and park attendants are almost guaranteed to be in some kind of green t

Black and White color changes a movie thematically, providing atmosphere, tone , and visually providing stark contrasts and a dreamlike view of the world. It can at once make a film feel more real .When films are filmed in black and white are called film noir. Black and white is the color of glamour cinematography . The most glamorous icons of the screen who only require last names-Garbo, Bogart , Bacall, Gable, Dietrich - are most famously photographed in black and white. Sometimes directors used black ad white to make a political or aesthetic point. Some films are shot in black and white as a kind of homage to earlier cinema genres. Contemporary filmmakers often decide that black and white is an appropriate medium to evoke a sense of the past, as in Mel Brooks's comic homage to an earlier horror era . Young Frankenstein .

Preliminary Exercise :Camera work /Shot sizes

Image
Shot sizes were our third camera work to do. Shot sizes are how much of the scene is included in the picture, and whether it mainly shows th setting , people in the setting, or details faces and things. It is a very tedious process in choosing camera sizes. Each shot sizes choice you make will alter the surrounding shot and the way we receive them.It ensures that the audience sees what we want them to see. Shot sizes help you translate written words, thoughts, and emotions into images. Having a wide variety allows editors to regulate the emotional connection the audience has with the character.   Example of f shot sizes are establishing shot , wide shot , full shot , medium full shot , medium shot, close up , and extreme close up . Establishing shot shows the importance relationship between figures and objects . Wide shot is a camera angle that shows the entire object or person and their relation that surrounds them . Full shot is when the film shows the objects and their surrounding
